Converting the farm from Ag. to Wildlife Exemption

It is a hard decision to make, but change is good.   The goats have given us a lot of entertainment, laughs and tears.   We will find these girls all a good home.

An Interesting and Eventful Month

I can't believe it is already January 23.  It has been a very eventful month & start to 2015.

I crossed over to 55.  50 didn't phase me; but 55 has made me raise a few questions, concerns and contemplate the rest of my life.  All I can share now is that I have grand plans to come; note key word: "plans".

Our weather started off icky...  Yes, that damp, cold dreary winter weather.  We finally saw SUNSHINE on the 14th and temperatures changed from mid 30's up to 82 on Tuesday (1/20), only to plummet back down to 30's last night.  Yesterday's front gave us over 5" of rain and Snow Flurries this morning.  Too warm to stick, but pretty to watch drift thru the sky!  We had disconnected the sump pump in the basement to accommodate the dishwasher drain.  I checked the basement several times throughout the day expecting to see it flooding; but all the gutters, french drains and work we have done has kept it mostly dry.

See you soon.  Always with hugs.

Happy New Year. 2015

We started our last day of 2014 very early with a trip to Marble Falls for a dentist appointment.  It was a nice wintery drive. Unfortunately, we get to go back on Friday for another procedure.

A Nice quite evening at home, fireplace blazing and cold damp end to 2014.  We enjoyed shrimp gumbo and stupid TV.   I woke up at 11:55 pm just in time to catch the San Antonio Celebration at midnight. Back to sleep promptly to be awaken at 4am with nature's fireworks - lightening and thunder. A Big storm blew threw leaving us with 2" of rain.  Fortunately, it did not freeze or we'd have had a horrible mess.

Today we'll have greens from Robert's garden and black-eyed peas and ham.   Hopefully, mom will come join us.  Otherwise, I'm putting away the Christmas decorations and just taking it easy.  Yay!   I still don't go back to work until January 8th...

I Hope you all had a safe night and a great day to start your new year.   Love to all.   I really appreciate your friendship in my life.
