Time to catch up.

BIG sigh.   The "well" is deep.  There's been a lot going on since my last posting (Jan 2015).   So get ready to scroll backwards in time to catch up.  In the meantime, Our journey continues.

Starting today;  construction goes on and On and ON.  I'm doing lots of what Ben calls the  "dainty decorating";  The Finishes.   Late May, we have lived here for 10 years and were almost 2 months into our major renovation of the main living areas of the main house.  Not at all our character, but we did hire a contractor to get it done much faster than us doing it ourselves.   We definitely kept our hands and heads in it since we couldn't find an architect / designer to do drawings; here in Central Texas, the building trades are stretched thin.  So much, we feel we were lucky to have found a contractor, for our what they call, a small job.  At that time things were very uncertain, now overall, things look great.  What was expected to be 2-3 month project, hit 4 months last week.  Although, not 100% complete, we hope to be moving back in next weekend.

Furniture shopping is quite a challenge for me.  Worst than facing the used car salesmen.  I've seen what I want I various photos, but now forced to find it.  There's really no name or one word to describe my style choice; so in a nutshell, when I'm done, the contest will begin for that descriptive.

Ben continues to spruce up the outside living areas by closing in the patio / carport ceilings.   Hard labor when it's 100 degrees in August; but well worth the sweat.  Puts a very finished look to your typical carport.

Summer garden is almost spent, Joe & Joy (who you will still need to meet), continue to get skunked, and the 5 cats continue to amuse us.   Crosby, Ben's parents cat, aka Midnight, after 3 years, has finally turned the corner from wild to part of the family.  Farm/at exemption has been converted to wildlife exemption; while seeing all the birds and deer are nice, I truly miss my goats. We still have the chickens.

Guess that's all for this morning.  I'll work diligently to fill in the history with stories and pictures.  Hugs to all.
Thanks for stopping by!
